Nursery and Primary School
The Nursery and primary school was founded in 1983 to educate local children from all caste backgrounds. Currently, 250 children between the ages of two and twelve regularly attend the free classes provided at both nursery and primary level. Additionally, Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS) is also able to provide the children with free stationary and books, as their parents are unable to afford these. 120 children from pre-nursery, nursery and kindergarten also receive a free nutritious meal once a day.
KTS emphasises extra-curricular activities for the physical, mental, and social development of its students. We continuously try to integrate backward community children with other caste children through the child club and extracurricular activities like culture programmes, quiz contests, spelling contests etc. It helps in the social upliftment of the community children. These programmes always need support.
Save The Children Norway had fully funded for the programme from 1989 to 1993 and partially supported it from 1994 to 2001. Fair Trade Co. (Global Village) Japan now partially supports KTS in addition to the money raised from the sale of KTS products.
