Every year, we have many visitors, friends, well wishers, buyers and volunteers who come to see us and work with us. This year has been as busy as ever.
Mrs. Roberta Taman, Canada and Mrs. Maggie Piper, Chair of the UNWO (United Nation Women Organization) has been actively promoting KTS and our products. They regularly visit KTS and give ideas on new contemporary design carpets. They have bought many new contemporary carpets and have encouraged their friends to buy carpets from us, which has immensely helped the School to provide regular jobs to the carpet producers. Roberta has purchased so many carpet from us virtually turning her living room as a KTS carpet showroom.
January – March
Ms. Leni Lewis, Founder of Shakti Man and Mr. Mill from Isle of Man, UK. Mr. Ubaldo Gervasoni from Consorzio CTM Altramercato, Italy visited the school, as well as a producer’s home. Mr. Leopoldo Rebillato, President, Incontro fra I Popoli, Italia, visited the School. Ms Masako Ueda from Fair Trade Company, Japan, and Ms. Saori Ito from People Tree UK, had productive meetings with the knitwear producers and gave feed back on last year’s consignments and updated our current designs.

Our staff have been busy too
School Director Mr. Kiran Bahadur Khadgi attended WFTO biannual Global Conference 2009 held in Kathmandu. KTS participated in market place in the conference. Miss Sanita and Mr. Hem Ratna attended in the market place and Mr. Satyendra assisted.
The KTS annual general meeting took place on 7 October 2009. In line with the constitution of the organisation the election of the Executive committee was held.
All the management and knitwear quality control staff attended quality and feedback workshop
with Ms. Masako Ueda, Fair Trade Company Japan and Ms. Saori Ito, People Tree UK.
Mrs. Jayanti, Ms. Rojina and Mrs. Nima attended on-the-spot Dye training conducted by Ms. Patricia Martin, Specialist in Dyes with the support of SERRV Self-Help International, USA.
Mrs. Jayanti and other dye staff attended on-the-spot dye training facilitated by John Roberts from BCCT, UK, through Fair Trade Group Nepal.
Ms. Sanita Khadgi, Mrs. Rina Bajracharya and Mr. Dev Raj Tamang attended marketing and design workshop facilitated by Colvin English from SERRV Self-Help International, USA.
Mr. Bishow Ratna attended TOT training of Vocational Guidance and Career Counselling Course coordinated by Skills for Employment Project (SEP).
Ms. Mamata, Primary Teacher, attended a 45–day course on Librarian training.
Ms. Sanita Khagdi partiipated in SFTMS Standards and Baseline Assessment training.
Mr. Shivan and Mrs. Janada de Silva from Canada introduced by KTS well-wisher Ms. Kiyomi Yogi, Japan. Both worked voluntarily as an English Teacher at the KTS primary school and conducted extra classes for the weaker students during winter break. Shivan together with Satyendra took lots of photo of Fair Trade activities of KTS and other local Fair Trade organizations and organised a Fair Trade photo exhibitions in Patan Durbar Square.
Ms. Doris Ospelt from Liechtenstein came for 3 months internship with recommendation and support from LED. She assisted English teacher in the KTS primary school and couched children of Orphanage.
Ms. Joe from UK came for a month. She assisted English teacher in the KTS primary school.
Trade Fair Participation
