wall drop for KTS's new Building

This year, 39 graduates joined the hand knitting production team. There are 576 women, 2 physically disabled women and one man, making a total of 579 producers working with KTS. Of these, 202 people work directly with KTS and 376 people work with our 25 Group Leaders. A further 2880 women and 15 men are involved in producing knitwear for KTS, whom we call indirect producers. KTS has 15 women working in the wool winding section and five in the dyeing unit. Altogether, around 3459 women and 15 men of 1158 households are benefiting from the KTS income-generating programme.

The feedback and quality control programme has been very effective in helping our producers to improve the quality of the KTS knitwear. KTS depends on the knitwear sales revenue for the organisation’s major overheads and it is proud that the quality of the products is helping to alleviate poverty and illiteracy in Nepal, as well as increasing awareness of Fair Trade.

This year, sales revenue decreased by 0.01% and contributed 45% to the KTS overheads and extracurricular activities programme.
