VOCATIONAL TRAINING UNITS

KTS vocational training is an opportunity for underprivileged young people with education lower than high school level, destitute women and physically challenged. There are only few opportunities to get vocational training for school drop-outs and low educated poor and underprivileged people in the country. Vocational training is very costly, so the marginalised people cannot afford it.

The Kumbeshwar Technical School is aiming to support above 15 year old low educated, low caste, physically challenged people and destitute women, providing them with useful, marketable vocational training with opportunities for self employment. In this regard, KTS has selected three major areas of skill-oriented job training such as carpet weaving, hand knitting and carpentry (furniture making) training. These are useful for everybody in any place.

KTS is providing allowances for full day training courses. However, the poor people who have come from countryside find it difficult to pay for the accommodation as the rent is very high. KTS is planning to provide free accommodation facility and training allowances, so that more poor people could get benefit and sustain their life and reduce poverty in the country.

KTS is conducting training in the following three areas:-

  1. Hand knitting training
  2. Carpet Weaving and Carpet wool spinning training
  3. Carpentry (Furniture making) Training
