Mr. Graham, Ms. Elisabeth and Master Dillon from UK visited KTS for two months. They conducted several activities as guide in the home, such as drawing, drama play and other activities. The kids learnt lots of new things from the family. It was a very creative and fun on winter vacation for the home kids. 6 year old girl Aparna Maharjan was admitted to the home this year. Currently there are total of 19 children, 9 Girls and 10 boys.

Senior boy Sabin Amatya is studying in class 12 at a private school. Other boys Sunil Pariyar, Kali Bahadur B.K., Kopil B.K., Rajan Garu, Dilip Khadgi, Gopal Khatri and similarly girls Alina Thapa and Namrata Thapa are studying in other schools with full sponsorship from KTS. The younger boys Bishal Lamichhane, Gangaram Khatri, Nabin Tamang and similarly younger girls Chandra Jyoti Thapa, Puja Gautam, Madhuri Sing Thakur, Urmila Gurung, Sharmila Shahi, Sina Rai and Aparna Maharjan are studying at KTS primary school.

Riya Tamrakar has left the home to be with her grand mother.

Kid's of Kumbeshwar membership programme fund has been a great support to run the Home smoothly. This year 56 % of expenses for orphanage home is covered by Kumbeshwar Kids membership and individual sponsorship programmes. The remaining expenses were covered by the income generating programmes of KTS such as carpet and knitwear sales revenue.

Profile - Aparna Maharjan

Aparna Maharjan Aparna Maharjan born on 28th April 2002 was admitted to the hostel in 23 March 08. She was born in Sankhuwasabha district, one of the very remote village far north-east of the country. Her mother had an inter-cast love marriage with Mr. Rajendra Maharjan. Four years after marriage and having two daughters he abandoned them. Aparna was 3 years old. Her mother is working in a daily wage basis but due to her weakness and health problem she found difficult to feed and look after her and her younger sister. She has been admitted in KTS with recommendation from “Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No 7 Office”.

She is attending Kindergarten at KTS primary school. She is quiet and shy girl.
